This is the decanter to get if you're looking to get a large classically shaped decanter in this line for a regular bottle of wine. Yes, this will hold a magnum but you don't want to pour all the magnum in it as there won't be enough surface area for the wine to aerate. I bought this to decant regular 750ml bottles of wine after reading some of the other reviews of this and it's shorter sibling decanter (the regular sized Cabernet Decanter). I'm glad I did as I wasn't disappointed at all. I was afraid this might end ...more

I drink wine...and while I doubt that drinking from crystal enhances the flavor (vs. the jelly jar glasses that I often drink out of), clearly it does add to the sensual pleasure. And I'm sure the shape influences the "nose." These glasses are *not* too big. Just a little bigger than an ordinary wine glass. They make a satisfying "ting" sound when flicked with a fingernail which is nicer than the "tunk" sound that Libby glassware makes.
